My Thoughts on Artifact Weapons/Power

Chances are, if you’re here you know what Artifact Power is. On the off chance that you don’t know, or are maybe coming back to WoW after a long absence, Artifact Power (or AP as I will use from this point on) is a points system. Early in Legion you’re taken to the Broken Isles and go through a scenario (quest) that climaxes with you getting a super awesome Artifact Weapon then venture to you Class Hall, sort of like a neutral home base where all the different people playing one class gather. … More My Thoughts on Artifact Weapons/Power

Trials of a Shaman

As I said in an earlier post about Altaholism, Shaman is really the one class on WoW I had yet to dip my feet into. It wasn’t that it didn’t appeal to me, it had more to do with my early experiences of trying one out years ago. I used to run with a now ex friend of mine, the guy who got me playing WoW in the first place. I was getting bored with my Rogue and wanted to try something new. He suggested a Shaman (probably because he wanted to run with a pocket healer to help him when he needed it) and I tried it out. … More Trials of a Shaman

Altaholism & Versatility

I mentioned in my last post that I’m an altaholic. I love seeing the world/story of WoW from both factions perspective, and I feel switching up classes/playstyles/races can sometimes help alleviate that feeling of borderline creeping monotony that can sink in at varying points in the leveling/grinding process. Some people who play WoW find their niche – a class they love to play and stick with until the end, or they branch out and explore other options, but always go back to their preference. Probably one of my biggest issues is I’ve been playing WoW off and on since 2008 and have yet to find that for myself. … More Altaholism & Versatility

Cocky Tanks & Trigger Happy DPS

For basically my entire World of Warcraft career I’ve been a dps player. Put in the most simplified of terms, my job was to kill shit as fast as possible. My first character in 2008 was a Rogue, my first to hit 80 was a Warlock, and I thought I had found my calling as a Frost Death Knight. I’ve played a Rogue, a Warrior, a Paladin, a Warlock, a Mage, a Death Knight, a Hunter, and briefly a Priest and a Druid. This was all long before Legion mind you. Then you can throw in Demon Hunter.

When you really break it down, the role of a dps is a simple one; your life revolves around watching huge damage numbers pop and how long is takes for you to decimate something from 100% HP to dead, with the occasional interrupt in there. Again, this is the simplest of terms here. This can sometimes feel repetitive. At times even boring. … More Cocky Tanks & Trigger Happy DPS

My Gender Accurate Experiment

A few days ago I wrote about being male and playing female characters. I decided after posting that to try to challenge myself to create a male character. It’s been an interesting experience so far.

I had a level 100 boost to use, so I made a male blood elf priest and boosted him. I chose a male blood elf because, quite frankly, despite being a fantasy game I can’t bring myself to play characters that don’t appear predominately humanoid. I just can’t. I tried a male troll. Couldn’t do it. I tried a male Tauren, nope. I tried undead – absolutely horrid. Plus, I had an idea in my head. I named him “Đoctor,” and he would be a discipline priest- capable of wrecking havoc if he needed to, but also with a decent set of healing capabilities. Of course, my inspiration was Doctor Who (specifically David Tennant’s Doctor). … More My Gender Accurate Experiment
